ABOUT THIS ITEM
Large aromatic shrubs like Nirgundi are most common in India's warmer regions. Asthma, muscle spasms, and anxiety are just a few of the illnesses that Nirgundi treats. Vitex negundo is the name given to it in science. It is a deciduous shrub that typically reaches heights of 2 to 8 meters. Its leaves have five leaflets and are green with brown bark. The fruits, also known as drupes, have an oval shape and are purple in colour. Inside is a fleshy pulp and seed. The Nirgundi plant's roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, and bark are used in herbal remedies in the form of oils, pastes, juices, and powders to treat conditions ranging from common fevers to extremely rare leprosy.
Helpful in Rheumatoid Arthritis
In Ayurveda, rheumatoid arthritis is referred to as Amavata, and it is a condition in which the Vata dosha becomes vitiated and ama builds up in the joints. Because Nirgundi balances Vata and has Ushna (hot) qualities, it aids in the management of Amavata. The symptoms of Amavata are lessened as a result of the increased digestive fire, which improves the digestive system and inhibits the formation and accumulation of Ama.
Helpful in curing High Fevers
Because of its high vitamin C content and natural antibiotic properties, Nirgundi aids in lowering high body temperatures, preventing infections, and boosting immunity.
